Overview

I am a warm, caring person and practitioner offering counselling, psychotherapy and equine facilitated connections to adults and young people. I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I currently hold my Level 2 Certificate in Equine Facilitated Learning with Athena Herd working towards my Practitioner Diploma. Although my qualifications and professional body membership are vital “rubber stamps” of approval, it is the quality of the ‘therapeutic relationship’ both Human and Equine, that is at the heart of my practice. My private counselling practice is run from my therapy room based from my home, where I offer a relaxed, informal space where you will be listened to without judgment and in confidence. Whatever the difficulties you are experiencing we can explore together, at your pace, building up trust, a crucial component for deepening our relationship and necessary for the healing process, growth and towards change. As an Integrative Practitioner I offer varying techniques and ways of expressing and exploring feelings that will be suited to you, this approach aims to help you make sense of your present experience and enable you to move forward in a safe and supportive way. By integrating Equine Facilitated Learning into my therapy practice offers an alternative approach to traditional face to face room based therapy. by incorporating my small herd of 4 ponies into outdoor sessions held on the therapeutic grounds at Corner Farm. These sessions can be particularly helpful for clients that struggle with communication or unable to verbalise their experiances and feelings. Horses are experts at giving immediate ‘ feed back’ and helping clients make connections to themselves as well as others, as well as aiding clients to co regulate and discover ‘new tools’ for getting grounded and present.
