The Awarding arm
Athena Herd Foundation is committed to excellence in Equine Facilitated Interactions.
The Awarding arm aims to facilitate this by working with regulators and external professional bodies to establish and maintain of standards in professional practice and education.
Accredited Practitioner Register
The Athena® Herd Foundation works with the Professional Standards Authority to manage the Accredited Practitioner Register™.
The Register serves to:
(i) create and maintain professional ethics and standards that prioritise the health and wellbeing of clients and public and protects them from harm or injury;
(ii) promote and maintain client confidence and public credibility in the benefits of Equine Facilitated Interactions and the delivery thereof;
(iii) provide a clear definition of professional standards required to support the delivery of Equine Facilitated Interactions;
maintain ongoing compliance with these standards by all registered Practitioners.
Those Practitioners on the Athena® Herd Foundation Practitioner Register™ have:
(i) demonstrated that they have all of the above in place;
(ii) equine health and wellbeing is at the heart of what they do (read our standards of ethical treatment of horses); and
(iii) submitted and maintain compliance with all of the Register's requirements (for example appropriate insurance policies, contracts, policies and procedures, ongoing professional practice) which have been verified by the same.
Developing world-class learning opportunities
Athena Herd Foundation is committed to the creation and delivery of first-class qualifications in Equine Facilitated Interactions.
The Awarding arm creates courses that align to the professional and accreditation standards, and works to ensure consistency in delivery and assessment through the work of its Internal Quality team.
In support of these standards Athena Herd Foundation is an organisational members of ACCPH and BACP. These memberships assure our clients of the underlying standards and quality of the training and services that we provide. These standards are reflected in our Practitioner Diploma and numerous Continuous Professional Development (CPD) offerings (Continuing Education (CE) in the US).
