Rejoining with a Membership Lapse of Less Than 2 Years
TL;DR
A simplified process is available if you have no upheld complaints and can provide all updated documents.

Practitioners whose registration has lapsed for a period of less than 2 years are eligible to rejoin using a simplified process, without the need for a full, formal reapplication. This is subject to meeting all of the following conditions:

  • Documentation and Compliance: You must be able to provide all required up-to-date documentation and fully satisfy all of the original conditions, requirements, and commitments that are defined in the current register application process.

  • Conduct Record (This Register): There must be no upheld complaint or sanction having been imposed against you by The Register during your previous period of membership.

  • Conduct Record (Other Registers): There must be no upheld complaint or sanction having been imposed against you by any other accredited register of which you are, or were, a member.
Rejoining with a Membership Lapse of More Than 2 Years
TL;DR
This requires a full reapplication, plus mandatory retraining based on the length of the lapse.

Practitioners whose registration has been lapsed for a period of more than 2 years are required to undertake a full, formal reapplication for membership. Before submitting the application, you must make clear that you have undertaken and satisfactorily completed practitioner retraining to refresh your skills. The minimum required hours are as follows:

  • Lapse of 2 to 5 years: A minimum of 20 hours of retraining is required.

  • Lapse of over 5 years: A minimum of 35 hours of retraining is required.

These same conditions and retraining requirements also apply to individuals who, for whatever reason, have not worked as a Practitioner post-qualification and are applying for the first time more than two years after qualifying.

Scope of Reapplication and Other Memberships
TL;DR
This reapplication framework only covers your EFI practice with this Register, not other modalities.

It is important to note that this reapplication framework, including the mandatory retraining requirements, covers only the practices related to this Register (i.e., Equine Facilitated Interactions). Any recognition of your membership of other accredited registers for different modalities will only be considered in line with your active memberships and good standing with those registers at the time of your reapplication to us.

Restoring Membership After Removal by Sanction
TL;DR
A formal, case-by-case review by the PCRC is required, and their decision is final.

Practitioners who have been removed from The Register for reasons involving the application of a disciplinary sanction (either under this Register or any other accredited register) may formally apply to have their registration restored. These applications are not subject to the standard reapplication process. Instead, they will be considered on a strict, case-by-case basis by the Professional Conduct Review Committee (PCRC). The committee will review all facts of the case and the practitioner's conduct since their removal. In such cases, the decision of the committee will be final and is not subject to further appeal.
