The Advisory Board has two sub-committees: the Standards of Education and Training Committee and the Professional Conduct Review Committee. A third, the Registration Committee, is planned for 2025. These committees support the Advisory Board in managing the Register and its responsibilities.
This framework ensures the protection of public interest by maintaining strict oversight of standards that support the application process (including qualifications) and by providing a process to receive and review concerns or complaints sensitively and confidentially.
Standards of Education and Training Committee
The Standards of Education and Training Committee is responsible for defining, reviewing, and maintaining the Standards of Education and Training. It meets quarterly to oversee the processes and procedures that uphold these standards.
The committee also assesses qualifications presented to the Register and decides whether or not they meet the required standards.
There are currently two members, supported administratively, who share the role of Chair. The committee will expand as the need to assess education and training standards grows and the Register’s accredited roles broaden.
Professional Conduct Review Committee
The Professional Conduct Review Committee handles and reviews complaints or concerns about registrants. It also defines, reviews, and maintains the processes and procedures for managing complaints and concerns.
This committee operates independently of the Advisory Board.
It currently has eight members, chaired by Ann Newman. When a complaint is received, sub-groups are assigned to assessment or adjudication roles.
Conflicts of Interest
The Register maintains a strict Conflicts of Interest policy across all boards and committees. All declarations and mitigation actions are recorded in the Conflicts of Interest register.
