Reapplying for, and Restoring, Membership
TL;DR
If your registration lapsed for less than 2 years, you can reapply without the full process if you meet all original requirements and have no sanctions. If lapsed more than 2 years, you must reapply and complete 20–35 hours of retraining depending on the gap. Removed members can request reinstatement, but approval is at the Professional Conduct Review Committee’s discretion.

Practitioners who have allowed their registration to lapse for less than two years may reapply without going through the full application process, provided they:

  • Can supply up-to-date documentation and meet all original conditions, requirements, and commitments outlined in the Register application process.

  • Have no upheld complaints or sanctions from the Register.

  • Have no upheld complaints or sanctions from any other accredited register.

Practitioners whose registration has lapsed for more than two years must complete a full reapplication. They must demonstrate satisfactory practitioner retraining before applying, as follows:

  • 2 to 5 years lapsed: 20 hours of retraining.

  • Over 5 years lapsed: 35 hours of retraining.

These requirements also apply to practitioners who, for any reason, have not worked as a practitioner since qualification.

This reapplication framework applies only to the practices covered by this Register. Membership in other accredited registers will only be considered in line with a practitioner’s active memberships at the time of reapplication.

Practitioners who have been removed from the Register due to sanctions — whether under this Register or any other accredited register — may apply to have their membership restored. Such applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Professional Conduct Review Committee, whose decision will be final.
