EDI Statement
TL;DR
They expect all members to treat others with dignity and respect, follow EDI principles, and reflect diversity in their work. Any major changes to their operations will be reviewed for diversity impact. They collect anonymous diversity data to improve services and take any reports of discrimination or harassment seriously, investigating them under their policies.

Athena® Herd Foundation and the Accredited Practitioner Register recognise the importance of respect for, and openness towards, diversity. We understand the protected characteristics within the Equality Act 2010 and, as such, respect that everyone has the right to live without fear or prejudice regardless of race, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, social class, religion, or belief.

We promote EDI-aware behaviour across our organisation and our extended community of facilitators, learners, and service users. Similarly, we expect all members of the Register to commit to the same standards in their interactions with clients and service users, treating everyone with dignity and respect.

We value our differences and recognise the benefits of diversity in thought, background, and experience. We aim to reflect the diversity of those we work with and for.

We act to ensure that EDI is embedded in our values, practices, and individual behaviours. Any material revision to the Register—its governance, functions, processes, training, assessments, or delivered services—will be subject to a diversity impact assessment to ensure that respect for all groups is built into that change.

We maintain anonymous diversity information from our extended community to help us better understand their needs. In this context, we remain committed to listening, learning, and developing.

Athena® Herd Foundation and the Register treat any reports of discrimination—or complaints about a practitioner on the Register—seriously. This commitment is reflected in the Athena® Herd Foundation Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy, as well as the Anti-Bullying and Harassment Policy.

Should such a report arise, we will ensure that it is investigated and that appropriate action is taken in line with the complaints handling procedure and relevant internal policies.
